It’s been a busy few weeks around here, but I’ll just mention a few highlights.

  • Karis and I just finished house sitting for family friends for 12 nights. We had 3 gorgeous cats and a beautiful Leopard Gecko to take care of. The cats were a blast, and even though we had a few hard times getting them into their carriers for the night, we figured out what to do to get them in easily. I think you could call us the “Cat Wranglers” now! (haha, just kidding!)
  • I’ve been coaching at Saugus for about 2 weeks now and running with the Varsity girls. It’s been a blast! I am so happy to be able to run with girls I’ve looked up to for their tenacity and boldness in racing. I ran 2 summers with Saugus when I was in high school, but struggled to hang on with the JV group. Four years of college later, I have surprised myself! I know it’s only 2 weeks in, but I’ve already run over 70 miles this week! I’m excited for the rest of the summer, to see how the girls gel as a team and progress over the season. And I’m super thankful to have this opportunity!
  • We have completed the furniture swap in our bedrooms a few weeks ago. It’s been weird to have only 1 other roommate! We still have a few things to finish up organizing but I like the new set up!
  • Our family celebrated the Fourth of July in Burbank at our grandparent’s house. It was super fun reliving our childhood traditions! Our grandparents live on the hill and have a great view of the fireworks from their front yard, so after a fun night of talking and delicious flank steak barbecue, with our aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparents and my whole family, we enjoyed the fireworks. I even wished I had brought a light jacket!
  • Last week, The Master’s College hosted a running camp for kids, and I was able to help out. It was the biggest one we’ve ever hosted, and so much fun! We got to be pretty good friends with the campers and we even saw some of them at the 4th of July race! It will be fun to keep in touch with them as cross country races start.

School for me starts early August, so this summer is flying by! I’m excited for more running, beach trips with the family, and whatever else God has in store for me!
